Dear all,
As most of you know, this is my final day as international secretary.
As from tomorrow I hand over to Peter Roos.

I will be finishing off a few projects, ie the current ballot, a few outstanding new boat registrations and also the reprinting of the class measurement rules, but all new applications for boat registrations, replacement certificates etc should now be made to Peter.

I have been Secretary for the last 8 years and have greatly enjoyed the comradeship of all the five-o sailors around the world that I have had contact with over that time. I would also like to thank the National Secretaries in particular, because without your help, my job would be just about impossible.

Now that I can focus on only sailing, I hope to see a few of you on the water!

Dear all

Thank you for a good 505 year.

2005 was the year we had the biggest Worlds ever (until now!). It was the year where we saw excellent sailing and good sportsmanship from all sailors in the class. It was the year where we showed the sailing world that we are alive and kicking.

In 2006 I want you all to focus on the international events.

The most important is Worlds 2006!.

Hayling Island are on track organizing the 2006 Worlds, we now have more than 70 pre entries from 13 nations, and that includes nations as Ireland, Italy and Poland, and the biggest number of french and UK teams for years!. If you haven´t registrated yet, you can do it here.

And for all the European teams. I want you to have the new EuroCup/European championship as the second most important priority.

The Eurocup now has fewer but bigger regattas, prizes, parties, sponsors and publicity.

Last year we hade 134 teams on the ranking list. I want that number to grow and be the biggest European 2 man class ranking list!.

So book your calender with the best international 505 regattas now.

At this time a composer makes fine music on it. We cutted down more than 18 hours great pictures from the worlds to a 5 minute trailer and a long term over 90 minutes about all the 9 races. A lot of people (specials thanks to the producer Gerrit) worked for free or very low budget, so they serve paying customers first. So I'm sorry, but we need a little more time to finish, duplicate and send it out.

I think at the end of November everybody will get his DVD. Over all the DVD will be great. Thanks for Your patience --/ Wolfgang Stueckl

about the worlds the German 505 class produces a great DVD.
The DVD will contain:
- a short image track (about 5 minutes)
- a long documentation about all the 9 races
- a lot of photos we can get for the DVD

505 FM tävlingar hålls i år av BSF i Björneborg. 29-31.7.
Om det finns Stockholm baserade båtar som är intresserade, informera mig.
Man väntar minst 20 finska båtar i tävlingen.

Vad kostar det? Anmälningsavgift är 50€ och vill ni bo billigt så kan man övernatta i en skola nära BSF med 20€ per dygn inkl frukost i BSFs restaurang.

Dear all,

Here is the agenda for the AGM. Please forward, circulate or otherwise bring this to the attention of all your members.

I draw your attention to two points.

First I would like to stand down as secretary. I have done the job for eight years and for the good of the class there needs to be change. However, we are still looking for a nomination. In fact we a re looking for volunteers for all three posts up for election. If anyone wants to know more about what is involved, please contact me.

Second, we do not yet have any nominations for the 2008 Worlds. Please let me know asap if your association is likely to be coming forward with a proposal. On the "normal" rotation, it is due be in Europe, but if there is a strong bid from elsewhere that should not be seen as an obstacle.

The accounts are nearly complete and will be circulated soon.

As usual this was a fantastic event enjoyed by all 42 teams from 5 countries including 10 GBR teams making the long journey. Sailors flew in from as far afield as Sydney and Seattle.
